The modern world is rapidly developing thanks to information technology, which has a profound impact on family life in all corners of the planet. Along with the advantages of access to information and educational resources, new challenges are also emerging: controlling children’s online behavior, the risk of digital addiction, and reducing live communication within the family.

These issues relevant to families all over the world will be the central topic of the round table “The Digital Environment in the Family and the Family in the Digital Environment”. The international interest in the event is emphasized by the composition of its participants, which included experts from different countries:

His Excellency Ali Mubarak Ali Binhalafa Alblushi, Member of the Supreme Advisory Council of the Emirate of Sharjah (UAE);

Abdurahman Naqi, President of the Emirates Writers Union in Ras Al Khaimah, Media Consultant at the International Institute of Public Diplomacy (UAE);

Her Excellency Ms. Boemo Sekgoma, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Forum of the Southern African Development Community (SADC-PF) (Botswana);

Her Excellency Ms. Uwimana Consolee, Minister of Gender Policy and Family Development of the Republic of Rwanda;

Her Royal Majesty Olori Ambassador, Wife of His Imperial Majesty Ooni of Ile-Ife, Deputy Organizer of the Hopesalive for Africa initiative (Nigeria);

Yulia Borisovna Gryaznova, Head of the Directorate of Strategy, Analytics and Research, ANO National Priorities (Russia);
Vladimir Viktorovich Gudkov, Director of the Gagarin Russian-Tajik Secondary School (Tajikistan);
Lyudmila Budazhapovna Dorzhieva, Head of the Regional Branch of the “Eurasia Kids” Project, Professor at the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation (Russia);
Galina Ivanovna Klimantova, President of the National Public Committee “Russian Family”, Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor (Russia);Sergey Vladimirovich Kud-Sverchkov, cosmonaut pilot, Hero of the Russian Federation (Russia);
Sergey Evgenievich Korchagin, Director of ANO Trajectory of Change (Russia);
Saidmukhtar Saidgazievich Saidkasimov, Advisor to the Director of the International Institute of Central Asia (Uzbekistan).

The moderator of the round table will be Diana Gurtskaya, People’s Artist of Russia, Chairman of the Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation on an Accessible Environment and the Development of Inclusive Practices. She shared her personal experience:

“If we want to keep up with the times and not lose touch with our children, then we cannot do without mastering digital technologies. The relationship with the child largely depends on the parents. For example, I didn’t know what Counter-Strike was, but when my son Kostya became interested in this game, I also tried to get involved in it in order to be closer. If we don’t try to understand what our children are interested in, but only condemn their hobbies, they inevitably move away from us. All tasks, including parental control, can be handled when there is love for the child and the ability to put yourself in his place.”

In addition to issues of intra-family communication and information security of children and adolescents, the discussion will include presentations and specific recommendations on a wide range of topics: individual educational trajectories, moral education in a virtual environment, prevention of psychological dependence on digital technologies, as well as the use of electronic tools to create a unified family ecosystem and bring generations closer together.
